Terms & Conditions
These are the terms that govern your use of The Analytics Post (theanalyticspost.com) and everything we publish or host on it — articles, newsletters, events, submission forms, community spaces, and any related services. By visiting the site, subscribing, or submitting anything to us, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the site.
We've tried to write this in plain English. If anything is unclear, email us at connect@theanalyticspost.com and we'll explain.
1. Who we are
The Analytics Post is a publication and community for analytics professionals. We publish research, essays, a weekly newsletter, and host occasional events and competitions. The site is operated from Pune, India. You can reach us at connect@theanalyticspost.com.
2. Who can use the site
Anyone can read the site. If you want to subscribe to the newsletter, submit to a competition, or join our community spaces, you must be at least 16 years old and provide accurate information about yourself. If you're signing up on behalf of an organisation, you confirm you have the authority to do so.
3. Your subscription
When you subscribe to the newsletter, we collect your email address and, optionally, additional details (name, company, designation, city, mobile number). These are used to send you the newsletter, occasional related communications, and — if you've opted in — an invitation to our WhatsApp group. We don't sell or rent your data to third parties. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link at the bottom of any newsletter email.
4. Community spaces (WhatsApp group)
If you choose to join our WhatsApp community, these additional rules apply:
- Be respectful. Disagreement is welcome. Harassment, discrimination, and personal attacks are not.
- No self-promotion without permission. Job postings, event links, or pitches should be cleared with us first.
- No spam, scams, or off-topic content. The group is for analytics-related discussion.
- Don't share confidential or copyrighted material that isn't yours to share.
- We reserve the right to remove members who violate these rules. We don't owe you a warning or an explanation for removal, though we'll give one where it seems fair.
5. Events and competitions
From time to time we run competitions — including the Power BI Best Dashboard UI Competition. If you submit an entry:
- You confirm the submission is your own work, or that you have the necessary permissions to submit it.
- You confirm the submission doesn't contain confidential data, personally identifiable information about third parties, or proprietary material belonging to your employer (unless you have permission).
- You grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to display your submission on the site, share it across our social channels, and feature it in our newsletter — with attribution to you. You retain ownership.
- Voting results are determined by the publicly visible vote counts on the site. We may disqualify entries we believe have been subject to vote manipulation (bot voting, coordinated inauthentic voting, etc.) at our sole discretion.
- We may, at our discretion, cancel or modify a competition if we have good reason to.
6. Content you submit to us ("Write for us")
If you pitch or submit a piece of writing for publication:
- You confirm the work is original, or properly credited, and doesn't infringe anyone else's rights.
- If we publish your piece, you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide licence to publish it on The Analytics Post and to promote it in connection with the publication. You retain the copyright; you can republish the piece elsewhere (your own blog, LinkedIn, etc.) — we just ask you credit The Analytics Post as the original publisher.
- If we choose to pay for a piece, we'll tell you the amount and terms in writing before publication.
- We may edit for length, clarity, grammar, or house style. Major edits will be sent back to you for approval.
7. Our content
All content published by us on The Analytics Post — articles, essays, newsletter editions, research — is copyrighted by us or our contributors. You're welcome to link to it, quote briefly from it with attribution (normal editorial practice), and share it on social media. You may not republish our content in full without written permission.
8. Accuracy
We try hard to be accurate, but we're a small publication and we make mistakes sometimes. Nothing on the site constitutes professional advice — legal, financial, medical, career, or otherwise. Our writing is intended to inform and provoke thought, not to be a substitute for advice from a qualified professional who knows your specific situation. Act on our content at your own judgment and risk.
9. Third-party links
We link to other sites and sources frequently. We don't control those sites and we're not responsible for their content or their data practices.
10. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law: the site is provided "as is," without warranties of any kind. We're not liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential loss arising from your use of the site or reliance on its content. If a court decides we're liable despite this, our total liability is limited to ₹1,000 or the amount you've paid us in the last 12 months, whichever is higher.
11. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. When we do, we'll update the "Last updated" date at the top and — for material changes — tell you in the newsletter or via email. Continued use of the site after changes means you accept them.
12. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of India. Any dispute that can't be resolved amicably will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in Pune, Maharashtra.
13. Getting in touch
